Arranging your flight date

Bookings are taken by telephone between 9.00 and 5.00 Monday to Friday for your initial specific flight date. When you telephone to make your booking state your Voucher or reference number and the date and flight on which you would like to fly. Weekend flights are always busiest, so our advice is that you book during the week if you can. Try to fit in with the weather. We try to keep all booking periods as short as we can, weather permitting.

Flight times

When you phone in for final flight confirmation you will be given the time of the pre-flight briefing, which you must attend. The chart below lists the start of the pre-flight briefing at the launch site. It is intended as a guide, as times will vary due to fluctuations in daylight, but generally represents mid-month. The actual briefing time will be confirmed to you when you phone in for final flight confirmation.

Weather suitability

The Met. Office supplies us with our weather information. They are the best at what they do, occasionally even that is not good enough to predict precisely enough for our needs and flights may occasionally be postponed on site.

The conditions that we fly in are dictates primarily by wind speed. We can't inflate the balloon in more than 8mph of wind. We do not fly in rain or poor visibilities. Information on the weather is available on the MyForecast website. We also send out good weather alerts using email, so make sure you are registered to recieve them! Standby System

When we see good weather forecast we let you know and expect you to be able to come and take your flight. If you cannot come, you go to the bottom of the standby list until we work our way through to you again. This system rewards those who are able to fit in with suitable ballooning weather.
