The perfect venue for your balloon flight. The Dales is an attractive and interesting area for all ages to visit and balloon over and a practical and convenient area to fly from. Join us for a flight over this area of outstanding natural beauty. Gaze down on the magnificent scenery as it gently drifts by. Local features you may have seen a hundred times before are revealed anew from this unfamiliar vantage point. Whether skimming through the treetops or high in the clouds, it will be an experience you will never forget.
We take off from launch sites near to Skipton and Settle. Flights take place early in the morning and in the evening mainly between April and October (weather permitting). Each flight lasts for an hour although you need to allow three hours for the whole experience.
After a pre-flight briefing at the launch site you will be invited to enter the launch field and take part in the inflation of the balloon, it is a particularly colourful and exciting part of the experience. As the balloon inflation ends you will be instructed to climb aboard the basket and then as the burners heat the air above, you will gently become airborne and your adventure will begin.
While we enjoy our flight, the retrieve crew track our progress and meet us at our destination, we never know exactly where we will land and neither do they! After the landing, the crew help us to pack the balloon away. Friends and family following the balloon by road are requested to remain outside the landing field until our crew have obtained the farmers' consent to enter. Once we have packed the balloon away a glass of bubbly or a soft drink will be served and a commemorative certificate will be presented to each passenger. Various items of Airborne Adventures memorabilia will be available for purchase.
